The English Springer Spaniel is a breed of gun dog. They are very active and energetic, they need lots of exercise. Springer Spaniels are affectionate and loyal dogs, they are usually very good with children and they make wonderful companions. They are so adaptable, can live in a flat or a big house, it doesn’t matter if you can provide them lots of daily exercise. You need to start their training in early life. Springer Spaniels don’t like to be left alone and lots of them can suffer from separation anxiety. They are very trainable dogs and are eager to please. Springers make great family pets.
They have cheerful, happy, easy going nature. They remain puppy-like longer than other breeds, usually until they turn 3. They need mental stimulation in order to stay happy and healthy. Springers like to be kept busy. They get bored easily without exercise and mental stimulation, and they can be destructive. They need to be trained though, otherwise they can be dominant, that’s why they are not the perfect choice for first time dog owners. Springer Spaniels need to know their place in the pack otherwise they can show their aggressive and dominant side.
Springers generally don’t bark a lot, especially when they are trained and well socialised. They are usually friendly and kind towards people, so if you’re looking for a “guard dog”, Springer Spaniel is not a best choice for you.

Adrienne is very nice and friendly. She is great with my cats- one of them can sometimes be difficult, but he liked her instantly. She even sent me pictures of my cats while I was out of town so I knew they were ok. Adrienne is easy to work with, she is responsive, on time, and dependable- I’d definitely recommend her for cat sitting!
