Chilling in the Park

The Labrador Retriever is a large sized retriever gun dog and originates from Newfoundland. Labradors are the most popular family dogs in the USA and one of the most popular family dogs in the UK and lots of other countries in the world. Labs have webbed paws which makes them great swimmers.
They have two layer coat, a short, thick topcoat and a water-resistant undercoat. This two-layer coat protects them from cold and wet weather. Labradors shed a lot. They can bear pain extremely, it means if a labrador is in pain it can be harder to spot than other breeds but is also means it makes them very good for rescue work. There is a labrador who set a world record. He has recycled over 26.000 plastic bottles in the UK.

Labradors are good natured, trustworthy dogs so they make great family pets. They are usually friendly and very good around other dogs. They are also highly intelligent, eager to please, very easy to train and they have a nice, gentle temperament. Labs are very playful and easy going. Labrador is a great choice for first time dog owners due to their nature. They are very affectionate and form very strong bond with their family and they also very good around strangers because it is the part of their friendly, gentle and kind nature, they are people-oriented and social dogs.

Labradors need lots of exercise and mental stimulation otherwise they get bored and will be unhappy. They might develop unwanted behaviours, if they are bored but we can prevent this by provide them the daily exercise and mental stimulation they need. Labs tend to be bouncy when they are young.
