The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a toy breed, they are originally from England, but they became extremely popular in the USA too. They are sociable and very affectionate with people and usually they love other dogs and get on well with them. Cavaliers love company more than anything, so they don’t like to be left alone, and can suffer from separation anxiety. They were born to be someone’s companion, so they are the happiest when they can be around people.
They are like little shadows, follow you everywhere you go. Cavaliers are very adaptable, can live in a small flat or a big house with garden, it doesn’t matter to them, they only care about company. They are very patient so good with children of all ages. A Cavalier is a good choice for first time dog owners because they are so easy going dogs. Generally Cavaliers don’t show aggression towards people or other animals they are sweet, kind and like everyone. Cavaliers love cuddles so much, but you also need to provide them exercise and mental stimulation. Usually Cavaliers don’t bark a lot but they tend to, if they are left alone for long periods.
Cavaliers make wonderful family pets because of their friendly, loyal, affectionate, people-oriented and kind nature.
If you want to get a watchdog, than Cavaliers are not for you because they just love everyone! š Cavaliers are playful, happy dogs. They are trainable but can be a little-bit harder to train than other spaniels.
